The Capitalized Fireside Breakfast Chat
ENERGY x AI: Powering Africa's Digital Future

About this event
Capitalized 3.0 returns for its third edition on October 24th 2025 at the prestigious Capital Club. This edition takes on an even bolder and sharper focus, building on the success of the last edition, “Africa in the Age of AI.”
The capitalized 3.0 theme explores a critical question: “How will Kenya energize its AI ambitions?”
Artificial Intelligence has become one of today's most transformative conversations. While much of the spotlight shines on consumer applications and cloud adoption, the hidden backbone of AI is energy—the cost, infrastructure, and sustainability needed to power millions of AI interactions daily.
AI's exponential growth is creating unprecedented energy demands. To illustrate:
- A single AI prompt can consume 0.3 Wh of energy.
- At scale, millions of prompts translate into hundreds of millions of Wh annually, the equivalent energy needs of entire communities.
This raises profound questions:
- How can Kenya and Africa prepare to supply reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to support AI growth?
- What role can the region play in attracting global players racing to close the energy gap?
- How do we ensure this growth is green, inclusive, and future-proof?
To address these questions, Capital Club and Siscom will host Eng. Njenga, CEO of KenGen, Kenya's largest producer of energy. He will share his perspective and vision on how Kenya can drive the energy transition that powers AI—balancing ambition, sustainability, and opportunity.
Capitalized 3.0 promises a groundbreaking dialogue at the intersection of AI, energy, and Africa's future.
